What's hilarious is that your measuring stick is Nick Saban/Bama

if we were going 12-1 or 11-2 every single year and only losing to bama and the odd one off here and there, we would not be where we are.

also it's one thing to play down to your opponents when you also play up to them, but when you start getting blown out on the reg (5 times in the last 2 years, only 1 was to Bama), while at the same time struggling with a Syracuse team starting a walk on at Qb and letting EMU hang around all night, then there's a problem.

You know, I mentioned this exact thing right after that 'Cuse game in these threads and I was basically called a hater and a troll. But I think it was a reasonable assessment. Was LSU ever really a threat in that game? Probably not, but the walk on Freshman Syracuse QB was throwing very well against what was supposed to be a vaunted SEC defense. I think that game was the beginning of LSU's troubles. I don't know if getting rid of Miles is the best thing (unless you get Herman to leave 4 hours from the West to BR. Or maybe Fuente or maybe Bert. But I said this about Jim Tressel when he was at OSU. The college game had clearly passed him by. He was running a 1970's offense vs. teams with high definition spreads. Tough to keep up with that type of offense score for score. Bama (and to a lesser extent Arky) runs that style to near perfection, but you need a lot of 5 star horses for that type of offense too.
