If this guy had simply stepped outside as the one rational person (who was inside the apartment) on both sides of that cluster kept yelling for him to do, he'd have been arrested for a misdemeanor and bonded out within the hour. With a ton of witnesses and multiple videos, he would have very likely been acquitted.

Wrong the only reason the cop kept insisting that they come out was then he had the authority to arrest them for public intox, disorderly conduct or whatever else he could dream up. They did exactly the right thing by not leaving their home.

Is this standard for the TPD to send 8 cops to a noise complaint?

Well, not the only reason. He also knew he had no right to come inside the apartment. They did do the right thing not going outside. They did the wrong thing attempting to shut the door on him. The cop was already going to arrest the guy for some bullshite interfering with investigation or resisting arrest charge.

No, according to today's press release he called for backup and a bunch of officers patrolling the nearby Strip(bar area) responded.

No. The officer had already placed him under arrest. It is right there in the video.

By not leaving his home, he committed the crime of resisting arrest.
