I think "what's going on here" is probably very similar to what's going on at any number of like institutions.Mizzou is mostly white, like the majority of flagship schools and there are INEVITABLY going to be a number of racists. I don't think the University president can be held responsible for the human condition.

The more I've thought about this, and where I agree with you, though is that Wolfe did not act. Again, I don't think he's personally responsible for any of these incident but in the PC society we have harbors you simply have to be empathetic to black people as a white person of authority. Whether that's right or wrong, you should know that and this all could have been avoided had he simply gotten out of the car when he was ambushed by the protesters. "I hear you.Let's meet at your earliest convenience" that's all he had to do and we aren't where we are right now.

He didn't, and it will likely cost him his job. Right or wrong. You have to know your environment and surrounding. You have to accept the reality of situations.

I still don't agree with the protesters. I laugh at their list of demands. I'm skeptical of some of the claims.

However, Wolfe could have nipped this all in the bud had he simply even had a courtesy reaction, but he didn't. He thought it would blow over, but he misread the situation and it will likely be his downfall.

I think you are naive to believe this.

I can get on board with this. Well thought out and reasoned post. Beats some of the emotional ones I've read, mine included. Thanks to you and jafo for good reads on the subject
