This thread is full of fail.

First of all, Spurrier did not "run up the score" per se. He would put in his second and third string players like any other coach did when the score got out of hand. The big difference though is that he believed in giving the second and third string QBs some passing reps to build toward the future (meanwhile other schools usually just ran the ball every play to run out the clock). Passing late in the game can lead to a lot of additional scoring obviously, but it isn't necessarily in an attempt to RUTS.

As for Saban, he is not rude, but he does get testy with reporters that ask those cliche-style questions. He's not good at hiding the fact that it pisses him off.

Also, it's true that Saban did work his assistant coaches to death...still does, but now his assistants realize that he is the best coach in college football and tolerate it as a learning experience. When he was still a new head coach at Toledo and Michigan State, all of his assistants would quit. After he won the national title at LSU, his assistants finally began to realize that he knew what he was doing, so they conformed.
