I am young, so I don't know for sure. But in that Arkansas basketball piece about Nolan a few years back didn't Nolan or the narrator say people were getting impatient with him right before he took off?

Yes, but the impatience was centered more around philosophy not results.

The same people were satisfied with Sutton, even if he was handing out scholarships based on coke connections, even with the decline the program was under with him.

Why? Because he played the game how they thought it should be played, not the ratball Nolan brought.

Same reason why some will never accept CBB or any coach similar to him, because his offense doesn't fit how they envision the game should be played.

Same reason why these same fans accept DVH's mediocrity and make excuses for him and his staff taking years off in recruiting.

Simply false.

His demise was the fact that fans expected to win and couldn't accept that he had settled into riding his job based on what he had already accomplished. he got lazy in recruiting and his arse got fired.

If you work for me and you made me a lot of money one year and think you are going to sit on your arse and expect to be safe, you'll get Nolan'd yourself. Too much talent out there for one to rest on his past achievements.
