Reminder of how worthless the first CFP rankings are

3 of the initial top 4 did not make it, in fact they all sorta tanked.
3 of the top 6 did make it though, in reverse order of how they initially appeared.
only 2 undefeateds this time last year, 8 this year, not counting the smaller programs.

Yea and it's just something to wet the whistle for this weekend. Obviously everything could flip in four days.

Oh sweet they don't count

The CFP Rankings have made November a mini playoff of its own. You think its a coincidence the first Rankings are released this late?
And all that tells me about OSU is that last yr they had a super easy November.

How exactly would that tell you this?
Newsflash. Losing early and winning out has always been the way to get to the big dance. Nothing has changed

So Bama strategically has lost to Ole Miss twice in a row?
This isn't proof that the rankings are worthless, any more than any other ranking ever. If that's what you're getting at, doesn't that go without saying?

If Ohio State does not absolutely crush Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game I get the feeling they might have ended up at 5th.
The fact they absolutely annihilated them mighta just been the deciding factor.

You could go back to the BCS and see the same trend. This happens every year at this point, everyone projects the currently topranked and undefeated teams into the postseason, then we have a November of insanity and everything gets shaken up.

If OSU doesn't win 59-0 in their champ gzme, they're not in the final 4.
Ask TCU.

You better cool it or genro is going to call you an LSU or Auburn alter.

If that happens I will rightfully call them out for racism

November is the month that matters

What would be worth mentioning more is how similar the Committee Rankings and AP are from last year, cause you know the committee doesn't look at those 'other' polls...that have been around eons longer.
The Committee is basically a bunch of halfwits, that want to feel important.
Cunnilingus Rice? You kidding me??!??

I don't understand the early rankings at all. I guess it's just to generate interest. I'll watch next month, they might mean something then.

November is typically the month where teams have their highest concentration of tough games, not to mention conference title games that follow.
So it's the most volatile in terms of rankings.
