See, there's the thing, a loss to Alabama just doesn't hurt as much as a loss to UF for one primary reason, UT and UF are in the same division. They are truly rivals in the sense that they are competing for the same prize, a division championship. That's not the case with Alabama and Tennessee anymore - and their rivalry has suffered since.

Your logic actually proves our point. The fact that the rivalry has endured over 30 years of not competing with each other for a division title is testimony to how deeply rooted it is.
