Rivalries need to have major implications at stake, consistently, however, in order to sustain.
Tennessee, like Nebraska, is becoming irrelevant. Until Tennessee builds their program back to a level where they can actually compete for championships, this rivalry will die a slow death.
I just don't see anything close in this "rivalry" like what I see with Bama-Auburn. Nothing big at stake. No thrilling last minute wins with Championships at stake. No trees getting poisoned. Hell, no teabagging going on.
The last controversy between these two schools was with Fulmer back in, what, 2006 or 2007? That's almost 10 years ago.
But, make no mistake, this rivalry will die a slow death if Tennessee doesn't get it's act together in the next 10 years.

This is weak....We have beaten that coonhound azz for 11 straight and we still can generate the passion for the series. How long y'all been playing? Forever?
Vols are new to us and really not a staple of our schedule til the 1992 split divisions were created. Bama and Vols should have some hate saved up? I think Vols are too beat up to put up much of a fight...damn.

Kids these days have little respect for anything. I ,however, raised mine correct and she hates the orange with a passion that brings tears to my eyes.
