I wasn't surprised he was announcing his retirement but the effective immediately part threw me for a loop at first.
But after some thinking it made sense. Spurrier hates losing and with so much of the fanbase saying he should not be back next season he went ahead and removed himself and is letting his assistants he cares about try and turn this around.
Honestly I don't think it has really hit me yet that the Spurrier era is over yet with the press conferences today and all the talk about him and his legacy at USC. I've been telling myself the last game I saw him coach in person was the UK game but I don't think that will hit me until I'm sitting in Williams-Brice Saturday
