I'll miss him for the character he was and what he brought to the program.

He's become a member of the Gamecock family IMHO - donated a lot of time and money to things other than football over the years.

But it was time. It really was. He did the right thing and put us in a good position to get ahead of the circus that will be filling the job.

Now, the real question is what will it take for Elliot to get the job? Four wins and a bowl win? Five wins and a bowl win? I dunno.

If he beats Vandy, The Citadel, Tennessee and Clemson who knows.

But last night and today has been bittersweet for me. I got to know Coach a little over the years, was there sitting right in front of him with Ainsley Earhardt when he gave his speech In The Zone and spent some time with him that afternoon before he took off for St Augustine. Partied with him at a friend's birthday late one night and had a blast. He is a good guy - a rare individual - one of a kind really. I think we'll all miss his antics to some degree but it is time to move on.

This next hire is gonna be a big one. Let's hope Tanner can handle the responsibility.

Agree completely. Sad. Felt like a punch in the gut yesterday but after thinking about it, it was the right move for all involved

This scares me to death. Not feeling any confidence in tanner. Holbrook seems to be the type of hire that would bury our football team for 20 years.

I cant name one thing Tanner has done as AD that has inspired any confidence to me.

And CG, there is no crying in football.
Actually years ago i left that dreadful Auburn homegame where garcia just shite all over the bed and we lost to them at home. Probably the most painful loss in my history of fandom. Got back to my tailgate spot and found my 25 yr old baby sister crying her eyes out. I yelled at her for a while for crying and then thought about what had transpired and almost felt bad for getting angry at her.
