If any young Gumps actually put Saban over Bryant...I'm surprised the population hasn't had them sterilized and destroyed.
Bryant was greatness on a level Saban will never know. BB could kick your dick in the dirt for 60 minutes, then walk over and invite you to his house for supper (or at least a bag of GF chips) and remember EVERY ONE of your kids' names and ages.
He loved Alabama, and never forgot aTm.
He was the southern gent you couldn't hate, no matter how hard you tried. Taking an arse-whipping from him was just part of being an LSU fan, and we lost one of our greatest coaches ever cuz some high-powered alums got greedy.
Saban is a hired assassin, nothing more. No love for anyone but football and himself. and $.

I don't think that's completely true anymore. He has roots in central Alabama. More so than any other coaching stop he's made.

How does Bama's D taste? You do realize Bryant was one of the greatest cheaters of all time, right? He admitted to buying players in a 1966 interview with SI. And he left A&M because they didn't help him cheat well enough. That's documented shite right there.
