I bet a good number of under 25 year olds on here might try to say saban is the best coach they've had.

The young ones that think Saban is king in Bammerland have no clue.

Saban rants and raves about the fans questioning his every move.

Nobody questioned Bear...ever. That was a high crime. If Bear had announced they were playing blindfolded and in high heels, then by God there must be a winning strategy behind it.

Bear could have been the Governor of Alabama at anytime he had wanted to run for office.

Younger fans have no idea at how much power a coach could wield back in the day.

Truer words were never spoken. When Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas he used to refer to Frank Broyles (former Arkansas head coach and AD) as the most powerful man in the state. And he wasn't kidding.

SavageOrangeJug- you obviously aren't old enough to remember the Bear either. I was only 8 or 9 but I remember talk of him being all washed up in the late 60's. Even in the early-mid 70's folk's were saying he couldn't win the big one anymore. It probably wasn't until 1978 that he reclaimed the glory from the mid 60's. He was openly criticized until then. Not much after though.
