Missouri's chances at going to Atlanta for a third straight time were pending on if they didn't have a stupid loss against a lower tier SEC team and they had one.
Missouri, you are not going through both Florida and Georgia without losing at least one game.

Unlikely shite happens and they end up with the East title. See the 2014 UF v UGA game.

If you had told me three years ago that SEC fans would be talking all sorts of shite at Mizzou about how they there was no way we were about to threepeat as SEC East champs...
...I'd have been OK with that.
Mizzou will be returning the bulk of its team next year and as long as the offensive line holds up, that is probably the year when Mizzou can try to do significant damage in the league again as Lock and other young players mature.
I believe Mizzou truly earned the right the past few years to go to Atlanta.
This year though? Man, if we go a third straight time...somebody in the East dun goofed.

Recent history has said the winner of the East only has one SEC loss.

Quite likely right. Mizzou is in a rebuilding year, so there is no way we should be SEC East champs. But, I guess we will still play out the season to see what happens.

I posted this a few weeks ago, the SEC record of the winner of each division:
Year East West
1992 6-2 8-0
1993 7-1 8-0*
1994 7-1 8-0
1995 8-0 6-2
1996 8-0 6-2
1997 7-1 6-2
1998 8-0 6-2
1999 7-1 7-1
2000 7-1 6-2
2001 7-1 5-3
2002 7-1 6-2*
2003 6-2 7-1
2004 7-1 8-0
2005 6-2 7-1
2006 7-1 7-1
2007 6-2 6-2
2008 7-1 8-0
2009 8-0 8-0
2010 5-3 8-0
2011 7-1 8-0
2012 7-1 7-1
2013 7-1 7-1
2014 7-1 7-1
(for 1993 and 2002 I'm using the best divisional record put up, that would have won the division if not for probation)
23 total championship games, 46 total division winners
8-0 : 12
7-1 : 21
6-2 : 11
5-3 : 2
71% of all spots have gone to 8-0 or 7-1 teams
6-2 is usually not good enough, but occasionally is, you def. need help.
5-3 you need some major insanity
