Moving the game to Baton Rouge is absolutely the best decision, seriously.

There are a lot of financial issues to consider here. Move the game to Atlanta or Charlotte- I doubt they would donate their stadium and staff free of charge; it would cost a good bit to do that. Ok, you make it up with the gate sales... so who's going to go? Last minute change of venue would make it tough for LSU fans travelling, so you'd lose a good bit there. As for Carolina fans- I get the feeling a whole lot of them have more important issues going on, and aren't going to make a road trip right now. Locals? Let's face it, unless it's something like Notre Dame popping up in New York etc, I doubt there's going to be a lot of interest in something like this, not at the last minute. Might have a stadium more than 1/2 empty.

Swapping to the venue of the other participating team provides the best atmosphere for the game, and probably the best financial payout too. If the situation were reversed, I'd agree with moving it to Columbia for the same reason.

Not like we LSU fans haven't been down this road before.

I agree.

I don't think this should inspire a rule that the game should always be moved to the other team's home stadium in the event of some sort of natural disaster. I still think it should be up to the home school.

However, I think South Carolina made the right decision for them.
