and it is not Kiffy's O. It is the NS O that Kiffen has thrown in a few wrinkles too. So the new O coach is the one who adapts. And it helps if he knows the NFL landscape and terminology

Thanks MB, we are all dry here. Columbia is 88 miles to the south and they really took it bad there. Have employees in SC and everyone is safe and accounted for.

Waxhaw.
I'll be there tomorrow, shooting clays. Actually, more hanging out than shooting.

like so many others, i think it depends more on what offers are out there. i would be shocked if he left for anything less than top tier college or an nfl job.

I am guessing about 10% but my concern over losing him would be QB evaluation and development more than anything.
Also Kiffin is an offensive genius and the pairing of him with Saban to keep him from drifting too far off the reservation provides a nice dynamic, especially over time as he adapts to his personnel.
Saban is batting about .500 with his OC choices at Alabama, imo. I do think Kiffin has helped evolve Saban a bit (and vice versa) during their time together.

I think he stays until USC finishes paying him. I think that's why he didn't get a raise this past year. I think he wants them to have to pay him as much as possible for as long as he can because of the way they fired him.
I think he stays at least one more season.
That said, I don't care either way. Saban will hire a good OC.

Would like for him to have a year with Barnett.

I don't see any other big time programs like UT or USC throwing offers at Lane right now nor can I imagine an NFL franchise turning over the reigns. I could see him getting a NFL OC job. I think he will be with us for awhile unless Saban or Lane get fed up with each other but it seems to be working well so far. The best thing Lane can do is to learn from the master and mature as a coach. If we ride his offense to another NC he will have offers particularly with Saban vouching for him.

Agreed. Definitely think Lane and Blake feel the same way.

79% I think he will want to continue working under CNS for several more years and really show he is committed to sticking it out with a team for multiple years. He is still very young, is getting a great pay check, has great talent to work with, Barnette is his guy and I bet he wants to coach him as a starter for a few years.

I'll say 60% also. Final year of his contract and he actually gets "his" QB, so it bodes well for his return.

Since it is likely that Kiffin is not here next year, who should we be looking at in terms of a potential new OC?
Posted on 10/7/15 at 2:56 pm to TT9
It depends on what jobs are open, but I'd say around 25%.

Alabama may win a Natty. IF they do Kiffen is GONE. If they don't it's up to Kiffen to decide if he's ready. The offers will come.

I think 100% he comes back. His name is still very toxic and he is young. If I had to guess he stays on until Sabes retires in 5 or 6 years.
