Yes, I think this is what the discussion is (Unless you're talking about something else?), and I think Elliott's performances in those games are part of the discussion/criteria.
Then why even question my first post? If we are discussing the best back right now, bringing up stats from last year is stupid, particularly 5 weeks into this season.

It's still early in the 2015-16 season, at a point where most of these guys' carries have come against less-than-stellar opponents. So it makes sense to take those three games into account, especially the game vs. Alabama.
So? As I've said, we're 5 weeks into the season, which is more than enough to make a determination. Right now Fournette is better. If someone else surpasses him in the next 3-4 weeks then you revisit the thread, but to argue it right now with stats from last season is dumb, as I've said already as well.

I disagree with your first part completely. How are last years stats dumb to use when using RBs against good opponents? I guarantee if LF had blown up last year and some other guy was doing better this year LSU fans would be talking about last year
It's only dumb when it goes against your argument
As of right now, LF is having a better year running the ball. Does he block? is he good out of the backfield? when looking at running sure he's the best right now, but is he the most complete back? I don't know enough to say that

Because you tried to discount Elliott's performances at the end of the 2014-15 season. Again, no one has made the stipulation that only the 2015-16 season can be discussed (you are trying to, but I don't care, and I've already explained why that is a flawed idea). One of the main criterions for judging a back is how they perform against a top-notch Rush Defense like Alabama. Discounting that is foolish.
