Well we can look at the schedule an all but if this defense wasn't the best ever, who was?

The 2011 defense wouldn't have 2011 numbers on today's schedule, but they would be much better. Imagine our current front 7 with a vastly better secondary. That's what the 2011 team was I guess you could say

And why the frick did we schedule fricking penn state, north Texas, and Kent state that year? Poor job of scheduling right there, especially since Bama is a national power

At least Penn St was a P5 school. Wished we had played at least one more P5 team rather than N.Texas or Kent St.

2011 Penn State was 8-1 before the Sandusky story blew up. Their only loss up to that time was Alabama. Kent State is Saban's alma mater so he was probably trying to get that game scheduled for a while. North Texas? Who knows? Easy win?

We scheduled a traditional power in Penn State. As a member of the SEC West, what incentive do we have to schedule more than that every year? Our SEC schedule plus the SECCG should be enough to get us in the CFP.

I would be stoked to ever get a defense as reliable across the board as 2011. 2009 had more of the willpower (McClain & Arenas), but 2011 was overall more talented.

The past few years we have been lacking IMO (1) enough speed at LB (2012/2013) and enough quality depth and (2) tall cornerbacks playing in their natural position. Really that is it, but with the overall size of the receivers in the SEC, our short cb's couldn't cut it and our taller ones really didn't seem to be a good fit.

Very excited about this years d and very optimistic about our d going forward the next few years.
