Yards per pass attempt is a better metric.

NCAA stats:

#11. LSU (5.3 ypa)
#11. Mississippi (5.3 ypa)
#11. Alabama (5.3 ypa)
.
.
.
#29. Florida (5.9 ypa)

Total yards allowed can be misleading -- for instance, if your team usually plays with a big lead.

ETA the stats that Florida should worry about:

Average yards per carry allowed:
Tenn: 4.08
OM: 3.53

Average yards per pass attempt allowed:
Tenn: 6.4
OM: 5.3

Why should that worry the Gators when OM is one of the weaker rushing teams out there? Especially up the middle, where the Gators are actually pretty decent with Bullard and Ivey. Gonna be a good matchup no matter how you slice.

Wow an SEC title in Basketball....you guys must have made the Final 4 that year? Elite 8? Sweet 16?... Oh.

Well, at least you won the conference tournament.

Why do people point to stats as of they matter?

Ahhh Tornado, I seriously like you for some strange twisted reason...maybe its refusal to understand or maybe its the blindness to stats....but bless your heart boy.

Of course the stats are wrong and all of us Gators are wrong. Dont mind 2008 he is our local pessimist.

One thing about our feverish love of opposing schools is that come sunday morning around midnite we will have all the answers we need....meanwhile let me consult my magic bowling bowl.

Florida matches up well against us. It will be a tough game.

All of this. We've had to deal with some stiff competition (it's early in the year, but Tennessee and Kentucky, hell even ECU are not chump teams to be taken lightly) and serious adversity.

Not saying Ole Miss who beat Bama didn't, but Florida is not the pushover it was a few years ago.

Honestly, I like our chances better against Ole Miss than I do vs. LSU or Georgia-- not that I think Ole Miss is worse than those two (they're probably better than LSU and equal to UGA) but Florida's one real defensive weakness this year is being worn down by a sustained power rushing attack due to our lack of depth at LB (injuries plus Muschamp being an idiot and recruiting the position in an unbalanced fashion). We might be the best defense in America in terms of matching up with a passing finesse team like Ole Miss-- arguably the best secondary in America and a strong pass rushing line.

I'm not sure how our offense plays (line issues plus Grier might not have broken out like we hope) but defensively I like our odds.

I have been pretty objective and neutral in this thread and I pretty much always am.

Please link me to something outlandish I posted in this thread.

Most of those came against a running quarterback. Which your quarterback is not.

You take away Dobbs from the scenario and their primary running back, like most of the year, barely scrapes away with 3 yards a carry.

Agreed.

Should be a good one this weekend.

I have but one prediction for this Rebal: intoxication followed by elation or excuse making.

Kentucky and ECU have a better Pass D and Tennessee has a better Rush D than Ole Miss. Grier has played against aggressive, talented, and experienced SEC (and OOC) units...and won.

One of the extreme posi-Gators called Grier the most talented quarterback in the conference earlier in this thread.

Oh and yes, they're serious.

We've allowed 202 passing yards per game this fall, yet lead the conference in interceptions (five more than Florida, for the record), but our secondary sucks. Oh, and they're soft.

K.

They'll learn on Saturday night.

The stats posed in this thread have been asinine for the most part. Calling the Ole Miss secondary worse than ECU and saying they're soft are just ridiculous statements. All that needs to be said:

-Ole Miss receivers will have their hands full with the UF secondary.
-UF has a makeshift offensive line that will face the best defensive line they'll see all year.
-BHGS is a tough place to play
-Grier played well against UT, but this is a different animal. He will have to be great for UF to win.

Raw Talent he's up there- there's a reason he was the top dual threat QB in America in 2014, he just doesn't have a ton of experience. Now, could he bust, sure- but I think he has a lot better chances than say Driskel since he isn't burdened with a cro-Magnon troll as a HC.
