Modification to the Game Pick Options:

EACH of the 16 Game picks have 2 options ...
Option 1:
(A)Pick the Favorite to win for a FG(3 pts)
(B)Pick the Underdog to win for a TD (6 pts + 2 pt Conversion)

Option 2: Pick winner vs spread for a TD (6) plus automatic 1 pt PAT.

I'm studying that second issue.

Making stops along the road now but when I get to my destination I'll post something. Picking an underdog to actually win is difficult and I'd say fairly rare to get right so it should be rewarded in some way.

I'll expound on it later but I'd say keep the HM but make it where each player gets awarded the points if correct.

Suggestions:

Hail Mary-maintain it but also make it available to the player leading at the end of regulation. Thus, if the other player is behind seven or less points at the end of regulation, he gets to attempt the Hail Mary as is now the case. If unsuccessful, the game ends as now. If successful, he gets seven points and then the leading player also gets to attempt a Hail Mary. If unsuccessful, then the score is determined at that point or you go to the tiebreaker as now if they end up tied. If successful, then the leading player wins.

By implementing the Hail Mary in this manner the player leading in points at the end of regulation does not get penalized for being ahead at the end of regulation. Basically, if the score is close (within seven points), each player will have a fair shot of getting one more seven point score. You could call it overtime where in essence each player gets one play to score in the overtime. Of course, if the player who is behind doesn't score in the Hail Mary OT then the game is over.

As to the picking the underdog to win or cover I see nothing better than what you have proposed which if I understand it means that if you pick the underdog to win and it does you get eight points and if you pick the underdog to cover you get seven points as now but I still guess you have the go for two bonus in the underdog cover scenario where you could get eight points but you would have to correctly pick the team scoring first as is now the case.

You could also use the Hail Mary OT where the players are tied at the end of regulation and if they remain tied after the Hail Mary OT the tiebreaker would decide the winner.
