we were riding a wave of positive vibes, made sense at the time. but jeff long nor bert could have known our depth at certain positions and injuries would affect the team like they have this season.

Maybe some of the stuff is a little hyperbolic but the extension decision was just dumb... he already had a huge buyout that I thought was too big BEFORE the extension. He was locked up for years anyway but you had a declining buyout of $3 mil every year. I laughed when I heard he gave a 7 win season a huge extension. After the Charlie Weis debacle at Notre Dame I don't know why any AD would prematurely give extensions... Who was knocking down the doors to hire him away from Arkansas last year?
