You do realize of course LSU finished first in defense last year in the conference and for the first time in like forever, its pretty much in tact for a consecutive season.

Last year is history. Consecutive win is crutching on history is it not? Just bc you can only go back 12 months to make yourself feel better and I can go back 20+ yrs it's the same thing.
Using examples from past seasons always turns up when we dont really know what we have yet. So since that is history now you have some, and it didn't take you long to use it ha. Welcome to the club.
