Does DirecTV have anything like the Dish Tailgater yet?

Am I just missing it?
I am the poor bastard who spends half the tailgate trying to align the damn dish. Help me (with HD please- if this exists and is less than 7000 bucks)

not direct from them, but there are ones made that work for DirecTV
ETA, but not available in HD.
I have never had a problem with a tripod and satelite using a signal meter. longest its taken to find signal is about 2 minutes
$15

not a problem, make sure you get one that has an audible meter, that way you can just listen for the beeping. $15 for one of those compared to the $500 for the tailgators is a simple decision

NYC, is that the one you have?

Just use a damn compass, if you type in the zip code on Direct TV website it'll give you the compass bearing and elevation (marked on the bars that pivot the dish) for that area.

We bought the Dish Tailgater for our tailgate last year and I will never go back to the DirecTV satellite ever again. It was worth every single penny spent on it

No, I do not own that one, mine was cheaper
The problem with a compass is it only gets you close and elevation can be a bitch, especially if you don't get instant feedback. The meters, especially the audible ones, let you know when you are close and getting closer. You just sweep the satellite around until it gets loud, then you are good to go every time. Don't even really have to think except knowing general direction.

Well I'm a surveyor so I generally get a great signal using a compass, my compass my be a bit better than your average compass

Hell I'm ordering one. Home games aren't a problem, but away games can be aggravating, particularly the elevation

My dad has the dish tailgater and it is awesome. Directv has one too but it doesn't pick up HD channels

He switched his whole house over to dish to have it haha. Dish is cheaper monthly and is only like $15 a month extra for the tailgater
