The QB position will be the biggest blip on Saban's resume. He's never been able to develop a QB

Alabama's QB development has been pretty good during Saban's time. He inherited JPW and most would say he was able to get the max out of JPW's somewhat limited talent. Set several Alabama passing records.

He inherited McElroy too and similar to JPW he was able to maximize McElroy's average talents. Set more Alabama passing records.

AJ McCarron was basically Saban's first QB recruit and you are crazy if you don't think he was developed well. He got better and better each year, broke basically all of Bama's records, and was easily one of the best QBs in the country his last two years.

Sims was developed from a journeyman, utility player to another record setting Alabama QB who earned a second team all-SEC selection.

With the current group it's still to be determined.

If Alabama hasn't had success developing QBs during Saban's tenure, then most teams have been downright awful at it by comparison.

Which records?

He threw for 2200 yards, 10 TDs, and 8 INTs his SR year.

ETA: Ah, I see. Career passing yards. Makes sense since he is Alabama's all time leader in attempts and at the time had 300 more attempts than anyone else at Alabama.
