Thoughts on UK's Renovated Scoreboard

There have been a couple of pictures floating around on Twitter showing some of the renovations to Commonwealth Stadium.
This picture in particular has at least a portion of UK's fanbase in a tizzy because they don't like it and don't understand why a "slogan" is on the scoreboard.
Of course, 'til the battle is won is a line from Kentucky's fight song, which apparently is beyond the grasp of some of UK's fans.
So I put it to tRant:
Is this lame, OK, or pretty cool? If your scoreboard were painted in a team color and a line from the fight song printed on the back, would you object?
For reference, this is what it used to look like:
Personally, I like the new look, and I think UK's fight song is top notch.

I like the idea. Could see State doing the same thing with our fight song.

A maroon scoreboard with "Hail dear old State" in white would be pretty sharp.
For Tennessee, an orange scoreboard with "Good ol' Rocky Top" in white would be cool.
For Alabama, a crimson scoreboard with "Writ her name in crimson flame" in white would look great.
I guess I'm just struggling to see why UK's fanbase is so against the new look. Maybe I'm the one who is wrong.

Wayyyyy too sophisticated language for a Bama building. Should say "rawwwl todd rawwl"

I think the UK looks more college like. I would have thought the renovations would have been from the new one to the UK one. Looks good regardless.

Reference to the fight song is a unique touch but if your own fans don't get it, it's probably lame.

looks kinda small.
Auburn is thinking about following Kentucky's lead on this, except instead of the fight song, they will re-print the entirety of David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest on it.

I definitely think it's lame on the part of the fans, since the fight song is pretty recognizable.

It looks like shite.
1. The font doesn't match.
2. It's a freaking vinyl sign, not even something that's permanent.
3. If you look at it closely and in person, the shades of blue don't match with the sign/scoreboard.
4. It's a freaking vinyl sign.

You spend 120 million plus on renovations and you're going to hang a vinyl sign on the scoreboard?

Well, here's one that obviously doesn't like it.
1. If the font matched, would that be OK? It looks like the Kentucky Wildcats font is the font from the jerseys and the lyric is the font from the promo materials the staff sends out.
2. If it were painted on, would that be better?
3. I saw the picture on the Lair as well, but I'll wait to see it in person after the paint cures to determine whether or not it will match.
4. If it were painted on, would that be better?
My first thought when I saw the blue paint was that it was going to be a white interlocking UK, but I thought this looked pretty neat as well. The old aluminum/blue was atrocious.

The top picture is "after" and the bottom picture is "before."

Considering over half of Kentucky's fans are sidewalk basketball fans just counting the days until the first game tips, it makes sense they don't know the fight song.

I like it. One of the only complaints I have so far for the renovations is that the UK at midfield is the same size as the old one. They should stretch it from one 40 to the other.

Gonna be a long arse battle.

You might of won the battle, but you didn't win the war.

I would have thought the top picture was the before and the bottom the after.
Top looks more old-school, especially spending all that money on renovations.
