That's from the mouth of Darrel Royal, whose "You gotta dance with the one that brung ya" is perhaps his most reused.

I contemplated the "three things" quote as a little kid. Didn't take me long to realize that only 4 things can happen when you run the ball and 3 of those are bad. (No gain, lost yardage, and fumble). So, yeah.
