Wow.

I agree with the above, while there have been many truly upper echelon RBs in the conference, Herschel and Bo are truly a cut above everyone else.

While Emmitt didn't have the kind of SEC career he could have had he been on a team the caliber of UGa or AU in the early 80s, I think a case can be made for him having the greatest career, start to finish at all competitive levels, of any man who ever played the position. And he did this despite not being anywhere near the physical specimen that Herchel, Bo, Cannon, McFadden, or anyone else in this thread was during their college days.

I still wonder what kind of numbers Emmitt would have put up had he not missed several games due to injury in his Soph season, and if he'd have stuck around for his Senior year under Spurrier.

emmitt ran a frickin 4.7 lol and yes he absolutely had the best career of anybody ever to play the position

first team all sec every yr

11 or 12 straight 1000+ yard seasons

most all time rushing yds

3 superbowl ringss pretty sure he was mvp in 1 or 2 also
