I loved watching that SOB go over the top. I can't tell you how many hours I spent diving over the back of the couch in our living room pretending to be Herschel. I don't know of any SEC RB (Bo would be a close second) who captured the imagination of the entire conference like Herschel. It was a step change in what I thought a running back could be when I saw him.

I can't find a gif of it, but HW has one of the most underappreciated over the top jumps I've ever seen. It was against ole miss, I bleieve in 82. We're on like the 5 so I'm not sure why he was diving over the top anyway, but an ILB hits him head on about the 3, herschel's body absorbs the impact and at THE SAME TIME starts a spin move, leaving the LB on the ground and herschel walking in upright from the 3.
