I don't think anyone is saying that per se. It's when it's assessed in comparison to your results that it becomes absurd.

To be fair, there is a lot of that in college football. The top 20 highest paid coaches include the names Charlie Strong, Kirk Ferentz, Mike Gundy, James Franklin, Chris Petersen, Rich Rodriguez and Jim Mora.
