Alabama won 2 national titles that decade, despite having a worse record then Arkansas both times. The CFBDW gave Alabama 100 points for those titles and Arkansas received 15 for sharing it with them one year. Lot's of injustices back then and we had more then our fair share, also.

Don't you wish that Alabama had accepted the AP and UPI and FWAA in '64 and then turned around and told them all that they didn't accept their validity as polling services. Then Alabama could have bestowed their trophies upon Arkansas.

That would have showed the AP and the UPI that Alabama didn't agree with the bourgeois, and long practiced, system of giving out trophies before bowl games.

Alabama could have taught the nation that they knew better than the AP and the UPI and they they didn't play by the rules because rules were for punks and sissies.

And, most importantly, Arkansas would have those trophies now. I mean, the trophies wouldn't have been legit because Arkansas would have had to change the rules that everyone played by in order to have actually won them themselves. But still, Arky fans would have a couple of very beautiful trophies.

It would be kind of like Ohio State giving their recent trophies to whatever team is the first team to win a NC after the playoffs are changed to eight teams, instead of four. Because, quite frankly, Ohio State's recent NC will no longer be legitimate at that point.

The FWAA didn't offer it to Alabama, so that wasn't even an option. I realize that's how things were done back then, but it doesn't change the fact that Alabama won a national championship, while losing to a team that undefeated Arkansas beat. And I'll never understand how a 9-1-1 Alabama was able to leap frog three 10-1 teams to win it all in '65.
