Thomas spearheaded one of the best defensive lines in college football and smashed many Crimson Tide defensive records, including sacks in a single season. He was awarded the Butkus Award in 1988 after a season which saw him set an NCAA record 27 sacks along with finishing 10th in Heisman Trophy balloting. He currently holds the single season NCAA FBS sack record with 27 and what was the career sack record with 52 career sacks. He was also selected as a unanimous All-American at the conclusion of the 1988 season. Thomas was named a Sun Bowl Legend. Thomas was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

Your info is incorrect. The official all-time career sack leader is Tedy Bruschi and the single season sack leader is Terrell Suggs. Everyone knows and understands why this is, but let's not pretend that it isn't so because we might not like it.
I'd be remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to point out that Billy Jackson was a beast. That guy rarely gets mentioned in these discussions about sacks, but he was crazy good. Penalized in notoriety because he played in Starkville, I suppose.

It's funny how both ESPN, and SI have said that Herschel was better than Bo but Auburn fans just can't let it go.

No, no it shouldn't. You can't award things like that just because someone was capable of being great at the time. He was hurt, he didn't get to show everybody, it is what it is.

good list except for rating Tony Casillas over Reggie White. He, Joe Greene and Randy White are the 3 best DL in the history of football with JJ Watt gettin' there.

Should be 8. Archie wasn't that good.

You honestly think that Deion had a better college career than Johnny? How so?
Well, he was a two-time All-American and he was inducted in the CFB Hall of Fame. He's one of the best corners and returners to ever play the game.
