I agree tattoos on neck and even like this on the hand can be trashy. I hate that just because you have a tattoo means you're trashy. Especially with veterans. Wait, what? What was the tattoo and what bar? Keeping people out of a bar in Athens for a tattoo would mean not getting much business.

I have two very visible tattoos on my lower arms. I waited until after I completed my Ph.D. and got into my career a good bit before I went below the short sleeve line, but I know many people who have full sleeves and work in a variety of professional jobs. The stigma is certainly going down. I would never get one on my hand or my neck, though, because there are times when I need to cover mine.
