That's the ideal situation, but planning in advance is kinda needed for me. I make my schedules a month and 1/2 in advance and I need to budget and I need to find friends to stay with. I'm still working it out. Just trying to get impressions.

For the tailgate and game experience I would recommend Auburn or Tennessee. Both are a long drive round trip in one day with 4 hours for a game in between.
For a weekend trip Vandy is best because Nashville has a good dining and bar scene.

If you're damned and determined to do a game this year, then do Auburn. It's a shorter drive which means less gas and since you're not staying the night, the trip won't be as long.
My advice would be to skip road trips for this year and plan one for next season. If you haven't been, I'd recommend going for the game in Oxford. Plan it out so that you can book a hotel in town and all that and make a weekend out of it. You won't regret it.
