Its hard to pass over Steele. He'll have the D at an elite national championship level soon.
Aggies pray for the downfall of others b/c they think it will lift their program. Honestly, y'all are scared as frick of LSU being dominate with Steele. We already whip y'all arse on the field, plus we steal most of the good defensive players out of Texas. Any more success from LSU and y'all will be back to B12 status behind UT and OU in terms of recruiting Texas. I hate to say this, but even the gumps are now out-recruiting y'all in your own state!

Steele may or may not be a good DC for LSU. We will find out once the season gets going at full speed. I don't think any fanbase is too worried about what coaches they will face going into this season.

Even if zombie Vince Lombardi rose from the grave, shuffled down to Baton Rouge, and kicked Les out of his office to coach LSU this year people would be confident that they would beat him. Well at least until he killed an opposing coach and ate his brains.

Sure if it actually helps our program. Like for example OU being in the shitter would help A&M. A Crappy LSU doesn't help A&M. What is best for A&M is a strong LSU.

I am personally concerned with what the coach after Les is going to do with all that raw talent Steele is recruiting.

That makes no sense. The better LSU does, then the bigger our game gets with LSU. The bigger our game gets with LSU, the more the RRR is overshadowed and it's HARDER for Texas or OU to out recruit us no matter our level of success.

If what you are implying is that in the SEC we will be third (aka behind LSU and Bama) like we were in the Big 12 (behind OU and Texas) I will just point out that in reality it was very hard to us to stay in third place in the Big 12. Back then Texas Tech or Oklahoma St. could have a single good year or get a new coach and completely steal that third place for a cycle for two.

The more Bama and LSU recruit in Texas the more it becomes obvious to recruits that the SEC is the only relevant and worthwhile option, which means that our recruiting spot is more secure than its ever been.

The gumps are currently coached by one of the best coaches of all time with multiple titles. Even without our SEC move Nick has the ability to recruit nationally, and they probably could have still taken what they wanted from the state.

In reality these recruits were never ours to begin with. Without the SEC move they would have gone to Texas or OU anyway. Instead we have to see them go to Bama or LSU, but the end result (they aren't at A&M) is the same.

The difference is that now Alabama and LSU are taking food off of the plate of OU and Texas, and yall are hurting their programs. Eventually both of those programs and the entire Big 12 will face a real talent drain, which will reduce the level of play and therefore the (already low) reputation of the conference.

In the end it is a good setup for us when Nick and Les move on, because they will leave behind a legacy that only playing in the SEC matters to Texas recruits and coaches. That will give us a leg up in the future over our former Big 12 rivals no matter how they react, and it kinda builds a moat around our program ensuring we will never battle a Okie St or a Texas Tech for talent again.

Iron sharpens iron. I say bring it on.
