Bama in the SEC.
Oklahoma and Notre Dame brought a shite load of people to NOLA when they played LSU.

bama and UGA seem to travel well. Basically any big name SEC school is going to take their full allotment to other SEC schools.
When UGA has played in games across the country (ASU in 08, OSU in 09, colorado in 10) we have taken a LARGE contingent. People at every trip were stunned we brought that much. In tempe for the 08 game we took 20,000 fans out there. The Gordon Biersch ran out of beer at 11am on gameday. One of the bartenders told me that he didn't see so many out of towners even when the super bowl was played in arizona.

Penn State has always, and will always be the biggest. Huge school, rabid fanbase. Michigan is up there as well just because it's a massive school with elite academics, so you have wealthy alumni all around the country. Most SEC schools are smaller and more regional. I'm just talking about national travel. Obviously within the SEC it's probably LSU. Most Bama fans who come to away games are the trailer trash who can't afford tickets at BDS.

Iowa fans generally travel amazingly well. They have fans all over the country because nobody who grows up or goes to school in Iowa wants to stay there.
nb4 Tennessee fans mention Outback bowl this year. By the end of this season most Iowa fans were done with Ferentz and like Auburn in 2012 were sending a message about their displeasure with the coach by not showing up.

#1 LSU because of all their T-shirt fans, creates the illusion they travel well
#2 A&M because our money
Rest are about the same

Depends on what you mean by "Best". If you are saying the "most fans" then LSU would certainly be up there.
If you actually mean the "Best" fans. LSU would be at the bottom when it comes to Jordan Hare. The fan base that shows up here are far from "best"

Us Rebs are pretty bad about traveling to locales we don't want to be at. When it comes to fun locations like Tuscaloosa, Nashville or Athens though, we're there.
