Yup. Might encourage to wait a bit longer and make a good decision the first time. Also, teaches a bit a personal responsibility.

What would happen to all the drama of signing day if they did away with it? The hotshot 5*'s and their entire families wouldn't get their moment in the media spotlight. What would ESPN do?

yes because a 16 year old is definitely mature enough
