LSU folks would call that a mulligan. Explains everything.

Easy. Both schools pay ESPN.

But they don't want the other to know they are cheating on the other. So they try to hide it from the "dumb" rednecks.

But you... You've seen through their clever ruse.

That's why the preseason is a bunch of crap. The west will be crazier than last year while the east slap fights and Uga can't decide if they want to win it or not.

It could happen. Alabama win the West. Allegation comes out of players steroid uses and points shaving. Alabama gets removed from the SECCG and replaced by Auburn. Auburn defeats UGA 65-21.

Auburn had the most #1 votes, however they also had a chunk of ballots that had them somewhat low (say 4th, 5th in West).

Alabama on the other hand had a bunch of #1 votes (not as many as Auburn) but almost no ballots had them low. They were consistently in the top 3 on almost all ballots.

The net result was Alabama having the most ballot points in the West, with Auburn being the team most picked to win the SEC.

Alabama tied for the SEC West in 2013 and AU won the SEC.

But clearly the media thinks Alabama, AU, and Georgia are the front runners.

I don't understand why this is so hard for people to figure out. Just read the voting methodology and results in any one of a dozen articles addressing this.

More people voted for Auburn (than Alabama) to win the West and the SEC Championship, but more people also thought Auburn would finish in third place or lower in the division than Alabama. Those lower place votes weighted down Auburn's total. Therefore Auburn received less points in the divisional standings but still received the most votes to actually win the whole thing.

Auburn had more #1 votes but also had more #3, #4, #5, etc.

It's not that tough to figure out

They vote for SECW, SECE, and SEC Champ separately. The people who picked Alabama first in the west didn't pick Bama to win the Champ.
