LSU meandered into the perfect storm for a loss. They had horrendous QB play, Miles had one of his "I refuse to accept reality" games, their defense was left on the field too long, they caught a Razorback team that had been getting better with each week, and... well it was cold.
If LSU had better coaching or QB play during the game it would have been closer, and that might of made the difference because the Hogs just could not win close games last year. LSU didn't do that.
For whatever reason Miles has a lot of trouble most years getting LSU up to play Arkansas, even though the Hogs have been a persistent thorn in the Tigers' side over the years. When you combine that with an Arkansas team that well and truly believes it can beat the Tigers you are asking for trouble if you are LSU.

LSU always starts slow against Arkansas, and sometimes that means a close game all the way.
Basically, it's pretty sad to say, but during Miles' tenure, LSU mentally checks out of the regular season after playing Alabama, win or lose (A&M in 2013 is an exception).
LSU traditionally plays the same way against Ole Miss as it does against Arkansas. The LSU-Ole Miss was after the Alabama game for years before moving to its old-school Halloween-or-so spot on the calendar last year.
Even in 2011 when LSU went 13-0 before losing 21-0 to Bama, LSU was down 14-0 to Arkansas in Tiger Stadium before winning, 42-17.
