Like a&m fans, I've seen several conference predictions for Arkansas in the 5th to 7th range in the West, so that's not much hype.

Oddly, on the national preseason polls we've been anywhere from 10th to 26th, averaging in the 18th to 22nd range approximately. That would be our hype baseline until more polls come out.

Lsu, auburn, and ole miss in the top ten in several polls, so much more hyped than the Razorbacks.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. If Arkansas doesn't win the West this year people will dog pile on them for being "over hyped". Meanwhile if A&M doesn't field a top ten college defense then everyone will be going on about how over rated Chavis is.

For the Aggies even a bit of improvement in their defense will do wonders. While I am sure they would love to have a Wrecking Crew type defense a group that falls in the middle of the college ranks would do just fine.

For Arkansas I'd say our ceiling this year is probably somewhere in the middle of the pack of the West. Obviously I hope we win the West and go undefeated but you'll notice I'm not flying out to Vegas to bet my life savings on it.

If you want to look at hyped schools that could fall on their face take a look at some of the top ten teams. History in the SEC indicates that one or two of those highly ranked teams is going to flameout and wind up with very a mediocre record.
