Online software sales as a moonlighting job, so I'm not sure I have any advice that would be helpful for what you're doing other than pretty basic stuff:
Get an LLC to protect your personal property from lawsuits. LegalZoom will set you up for (when I did it) $65.
If you work alone and do any sort of online payments, get a 3rd party payment processor to handle it. Far less headaches and you don't have to worry about fraud protection, etc.
