I agree with V&S, that is the best Chicago style pie (I am a native).

If going to a Cubs game you have to hit Murphy's Bleachers

Now that Charlie Trotter's is closed my favorite restaurant is Rick Bayless' Fontera's (and yes his brother is Skip) It is true blue authentic Mexican. He shuts down his restaurants once a year and takes anyone from his staff that wants to go to Mexico to scour the countryside for new recipes. For a gourmet twist hit Topolobampo's next door.

If you want to hang out in the Gold Coast area (where I used to live):

- Tavern on Rush to people watch
- Hugo's Frog Bar
- Dublin's is a good Irish Pub
- Jilly's is Frank Sinatra's old bar and usually has great jazz.
- The Redhead Piano Bar

Down in the business district
- The Union League is a really cool old school gentlemen's club (ascots & club chairs not T&A) if you can get a sponsor to visit
- Praire is a good restaurant
- the Walnut Room in the old State Street Marshal Field's (which is now a Macy's)

I can go on and on. Let me know if you want any shopping questions as well.
