If you have the time, please explain what Kodi is and how it works.

yea with the advent of high end streaming service, (getting 2000 lines of res in real time) the live (mostly sports) events are about the only thing holding the traditional TV package providers together. Most of the big guys, Verizon, ATT, Comcast are competing with themselves in that regard, they provide the network media layer and consumer package TV. While they don't want to cut their own throats at the same time whenever they can under cut the other guy, well, should be a win for us.
The number of people who want traditional "surf Tv" vs those who want stream on demand, are quickly leveling off with each other. Cable co's are invested in an archaic system so it won't die out tomorrow but it's time is definelty on the clock.

An over-the-air option becomes more vital. Put the best stuff on it, get a chunk of that advertising, and hope the product lures enough to subscribe for greater access.
Have 3 tiers of that: 10 games ,25 games, and total.
I know the SEC's Tier 1 contract is extremely undervalued but I hope it stays with CBS and ESPN doesn't buy it up.

You need to call in to their retention department and get that renegotiated. I have U300 with the sports package added on and only pay like $122/mo. Every time my contract comes up, I just call in to the retention department and talk to them about getting set up on a new deal. It's usually pretty easy.
I actually called ATT recently. I bought a house about a year ago, and at that time, went with Uverse because I knew they were going to carry the SECN, and to also cut my ties with Comcast. My year special is over, and seen my service go from $130 to $170 a month. I called and all they could give me was a 3 month special at $158, which supposedly carries some extra movie channels. I haven't checked that out yet.
Asked about just the family pkg (which I think is 100 channels along with the internet) and there wasn't much of a price reduction to bother with it. I told them if that's the best they can do for a long time customer (I date back with them to the old land line days) don't expect me to be around much longer, and they are way over priced. So now I'm looking around, and whatever choice I make has to have the SECN.

Was reading on SD yesterday
Sling TV 20$
Roku if you sign a 3 month contract I believe it's free
Hulu+ or Netflix or both - 10-20$
SECN plus ESPNU and some of sports channels 5$
So you're probably looking at 35-45$

Currently expansion is driven by carriage fees. Get any school in a populous state to force tier 1 rates. However, if in 10 years most of the population doesn't have cable and streams content, does that affect desirable expansion targets? Is a massive school like UCF more valuable than UVA?
Maybe it will. Maybe by then the more serious fans you have willing to pay for the service the more valuable your program is.
But who knows? Video game streaming might be the thing by then.

yea it's already the thing for those who want to use it.
as for a school like UCF being more valuable than a UVA, really depends, how many students/alums actually want to watch the game.
I've contended that the PAC is "overvalued" because even though the left coast has a large pop. it's mostly frisbee flippin, hemp wearing tofu heads out there that don't care the least about football.
It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out, but the SECN proved that SEC fans are the most rabid/loyal football fans on the planet, so we don't have to worry.
