I've been impressed with how well every position on the line plays. It seems like the last few years when playing MU their DL has looked like 7th year seniors compared to our young OL.

Their red shirt process is killer

And they generally don't waste time competing with the elite programs for 5* talent within their own state.

They identify the under-tier of players in a state who can develop into 4-5* talent (that haven't popped up on the national radar) and recruit them. That's why you'll see a Mizzou player's offer sheet as Bowling Green, Middle Tennessee State and Missouri.

Only later do the big boys try to poach them after some of their 5* went elsewhere.

Mizzou has the advantage of not having a tremendous amount of staff turnover. As a result everyone is pretty much on the same page when it comes to team development. They know what athletes to look for, how to work them into the system they favor, and how to use them to the best of their ability come game time.

Good coaching, good scouting, and good continuity will win you a lot of games.
