Also, we just don't care much for orange.
To true, we don't hate the Vols so much as not think about them very often. But you do wear orange... orange is not the new black, its the old evil.
Orange and white. The colors of that team from Austin.

That '98 loss was something else. There was a thread awhile back and it surprised me that the majority of Arky posters most looked forward to playing UT this year. I guess some of that comes from us hardly getting to play each other and your side looking for revenge of sorts. Either way, I think that will be a fun week leading up to and a fun game to watch.

aTm missing out on like every big recruit from their home state.

Does 49-7 ring a bell? I think Tennessee has more motive for revenge.
I think we all look forward to playing Tennessee, because there's been a lot of good games in the series. Many also consider it a predictor for how we'll both fare the rest of the season, so there's that.
P.S. That '98 game was a heart-breaker though. I'll never stop mourning it.

Rather than trying to force a rivalry w/ LSU; Tennessee was pretty heated for us.
I've honestly not forgiven Bowden Wyatt for driving the Cadillac we gave him to Knoxville to take the Tenner job, and that was 25 years before I was born.

The '98 game is probably my worst memory as a Hog fan, and we've had our fair share of bad memories. Ask any Arkansas fan what they think about Stoerner and they'll probably reply with something like "he was a good QB, some of the best years we've had, etc." But deep down their mind is saying "STOERNOVER STOERNOVER STOERNOVER!!!"

Not really. That was an arse beating for sure, but Arky was at its best in a long time and UT at its worst. There have been a lot of teams that UT has historically owned that have gotten some payback, even Vandy whipped our arse for a couple of years. Now, if you win 49-7 this year, then maybe...but I doubt that happens.

One of our worst teams ('92) beat #4 Tennessee in Knoxville. We had a temp coach that year.
If you take out the 3 blowouts in the series, the average margin of victory is less then 10 points. Tennessee has certainly owned the series, but to use your excuse, most of those games were played while Arkansas was at it's worst and Tennessee was at it's best in a long time. If not for the Stoernover, Tennessee would likely have to go back to 1967 to find it's last national championship, which came after Doug Dickey left Frank Broyles' staff to coach Tennessee.
