A little over $8000 for the one we want it wasn't something we were anticipating having to replace so soon so we weren't saving money to do that

Also wanted to add that we only just recently bought the house at the beginning of last year and we knew the system was older but were expecting it to last several more years that's why we havent had a chance to save a lot of money for something like this because we used the majority of our savings to put a down payment on the house

That sucks and I'm guessing Yall are younger and just getting started and that can be tough

My point being though, you should be saving for things you don't anticipate. I have my regular savings, and then also an emergency fund which I don't touch.
