I've seen a lot of people saying this, and it may well be true, but why didn't he start last year?

Did Gus not really want to win?

If he was the next Cam he would have started over NM

Marshall obviously had more experience and is much faster and the better runner which definitely enhances Gus's option offense. This is why they might well have a more pass oriented offense this season. Still, Johnson at 6'5" and 240lbs will be a punishing runner when he gets some blocking. The key for Auburn might well be their OL play rather than their apparent lack of quality RB's; there are many adequate RB's who can run behind a road grading OL.
