LSU's QB doesn't throw 3 INTs LSU wins that game easily like they should have.

I'm not sure I understand this reasoning. If Ole Miss' RB's run for 6 TDs they win the game anyway. Ole Miss won the game. Mett DID throw for 3 INT's and Chavis' defense did play soft against their WR's.

What I don't get is that two years ago LSU fans were crowing they had the best recruiting, RB's, defense, DC, OC and son on and so on. Now that A&M has hired Chavis away he is an imbecile. It's very confusing.

It just strikes me as strange when a team has a coach, player, offense, etc it is the very best. When that coach, etc leaves the school he is a bum all of a sudden.

Same goes for recruits. When a recruit commits to a school he is the greatest player at his position in the country and is underrated. If he flips, he was overrated and they didn't want him anyway.

Nobody intelligent is saying Chavis is a bum. He's a Top 10-15 DC in the game... his defenses without the talent of the 2011-12 teams are good but not great for a program that plays smash mouth football.

But he wanted Muschamp money and LSU felt he just wasnt worth that. Looking at the last few DCs we've had, being Chavis, Pelini, and Muschamp, Chief is easily the worst among that group. With the talent on hand, we don't need to pay top dollar for top results. For all the jokes about 70 points against West Virginia, I don't hear any uproar about LSU being one of the best defensive teams in the conference again next year.

Understood and agree. but some LSU fans on here (Yes, I know, I know) run around talking as if he the worst DC in football. If he improves the A&M defense a bit they will be very dangerous.

As for the 2011 and 2012 team defenses...you are right, but couldn't the same be said about ANY defense. I don't care how good a DC is, if he doesn't have top talent they won't perform well.

I can understand that. Sometimes finances have to take the front seat and a program has to cut their losses. Out of curiosity....and I am not trolling but genuinely interested...do you feel your new coordinator is as good as Chavis?

Oh, you were serious?

I think AT BEST, we broke even by jettisoning Haley in exchange for Orgeron. When names like Bob Shoop, Kirby Smart, and Brent Venables were floating around in February, and then Steele was announced, the TD.com literally crashed for like two hours.

That said, if Orgeron can actually generate a pass rush that we haven't had in nearly three years and Steele is as competent as a trained monkey, we'll be fine so long as recruiting stays strong.

As for the 2011-12 teams, yes, a DC is only as good as his talent level (see above), but I don't think I can name a player on the two deep of that roster that WASN'T drafted.

I think every school is guilty of that which is what I think youre directing it at. But a little on that, Our fans have had a growing indifference with chavis for the past 3 years of late collapses. It gets pretty annoying watching your defense control the whole game to set up the offense on to take a late lead only to bite your nails waiting to see if it will hold. We all know chavis is a top dog DC in the game but regardless it's less about losing chavis inside the division and more about being happy we don't have to see chavis's fatality final drive defense. This so called melt was fabricated by the ag corner. Some of these ag poster get a full on boner hoping other schools have a&m envy so those few say things like "butthurt" and "melting" without warrant. No one said kevin Steele was an upgrade and most were just curious and had questions. Kevin Steele+ Ed Orgeron= Definite upgrade (recruiting wise). As for the recruiting statement every fan base does this. Except for when they don't, said school that recruit committed to will spit in everyone's drink till some one acts out, then turn around and genralize them into a rantard. Hellacious place we live here on tSECr.

I think most would agree when I say I haven't formulated an opinion to whether or not he's better or worse but unproven with our program. Which is really the only way any rational person should look at it.

That's a lot of words to type just to avoid saying Steele isn't as good as Chavis.

LSU is a bad matchup for A&M. Having said that, worry about beating Alabama.

Honestly I assume that everything written by LSU fans is unreadable at this point and use my past experiences dealing with emotional 12 year old girls to form my responses.
