I struggled to care tonight. Two games in one day is tough enough. We did it last Saturday. I didn't expect us to do it tonight. I knew that if we did, there was zero chance of beating a team twice in one day who has won 27 straight. They haven't lost since mid April, but we're going to beat them twice on one day? No chance.

LSU saved Hoover for the most part. If they can somehow take game one, who knows about game two. I'm rooting for an all SEC final again this year, but I'm not expecting it.

If anything, I hope Landry gets on base. Couldn't believe how fast she was when she rounded third. Like a flash. Fun to watch.

I agree. I think LSU should use both Walljasper and Selman in the event of a second game

I'd also like to admit I never thought I'd see the day where Auburn was playing in the semifinals and Alabama wasn't. You guys and your girls deserve a ton of credit. You stepped it up by hiring a proven winner and it paid off. A guaranteed top four finish. Not bad at all for your first World Series.

I'm still in shock LSU hired an unknown Sun Belt coach named Beth Torina. Holy shite, she's been phenomenal reviving LSU softball. 2 freshmen pitchers, 8 starting underclassmen, and in the national semifinal?

Yes, please

That goes to Alleva. Looking at her record at FIU, it's crazy to think she's had the success she has had and crazier to think that Alleva even gave her the job.

It all goes to recruiting. When you allow your players to have fun and play loose, you're going to attract top talent. It helps that the popularity of softball seems to be at an all time high in this region. Torina was also smart adding Dobson to her staff. He was with OU and had the World Series experience.

It sucks for Alabama in many ways. Florida has been the only other team that we've been competing with from the SEC. We'd get knocked out by LSU, but never in OKC. The double edged sword of a being in a softball conference. I won't complain, though. I'd rather see an SEC team win it over Michigan. It's better for the conference in what has been a rough year.

good post. alleva haters are starting to shut up, because LSU's athletic program is red hot right now.

I just hope she's happy at LSU, because she will win a lot of hardware in Baton Rouge if she wants. She's actually a Florida alum, but Walton is so young that I don't see him leaving UF anytime soon.

The SEC is just going to be ridiculously staked these next 5 years. LSU, Florida, Bama, UT, Auburn, Georgia, A&M, and Mizzou? DAMN. I don't think Dobson takes the Arkansas job on that alone.

Solid Bama team this year. Congrats on great season.

Michigan is so good, it's a tall order asking our girls to beat them twice.

Why do we post game times in central? Eastern is the GOAT.

I often post both as EST matters most to media and media means exposure

FWIW, game was played in CST which was actually good (and another reason not to rotate the WCWS) as had it been EST pretty sure the last game would have been cancelled and played today due to the over run of the Auburn vs UCLA game.

Congrats to the SEC teams that made it to the WCWS, now lets knock Michigan out like we eliminated the PAC last night!

I get the sinking feeling that Alabama softball is going to equal Georgia baseball. The program to finally break the barrier for the SEC, only to see the flood gates open and several other SEC programs pass us. It happened to UGA after 1990. And since Alabama won the SEC's first title in 2012, things have changed dramatically.

Don't fret, yall can always remind everyone how the Tide won the first title ever when another SEC team wins it.

I think you left out UK and how fast they have improved coupled with their new facilities. If Michigan is pulling talent for the B1G then the Cats on the Ohio Ocean will be closest to pull any talent from non SEC points north.

Why did UGA lose that kid to Oregon this year? Seems with the PAC moving down and the SEC moving up it would be the opposite situation.

In the 3 of the 5 years before Alabama in 2012, there was an SEC team in the final. Ton of respect for Alabama being the first, but don't know how much really changed because they were the first. Florida was going to win one eventually with how often they were making the finals.

SEC softball presence has been growing for the past decade. Also, with the TAMU and MU memberships it may have brought light to some on here of their previous softball success prior to SEC membership.
