See, when your identity is wrapped up in over-magnifying your breathtakingly few positives, you get what is called "tunnel-vision". I know your visit to Fayetteville made you mad, because to your surprise, it has a lot more going for it than Oxford, and that hurt you personally. Also 30-0.

Stupid is no way to go through life.
People are moving to Oxford. We aren't propped up by Wal Mart. Our school and town can support themselves.
Putting a few visually ugly buildings in the hills is nothing to be proud of, unless that's all you have.
