He is a below average coach who is a great recruiter. What he says in the media is pretty irrelevant imo.
Probably wins 7-8 games this year, signs another top 5 class and tries the same thing next year. Eventually the fans will figure out he can't coach but until then it's a pretty good strategy.
Either way the next guy will have a lot of talent which is all I care about.

Jones seems to be Houston Nutt with organizational skills. He was dealt a poor hand, but my perception is he's not good at managing people (plays favorites) and tactics. Here's why.
1) He's botched the QB rotation in his first game against WKU.This led to problems the rest of the year.
2) He wasn't going to beat Oregon, but trying to run hurry-up was the epitome of dumb, especially with an NFL line.
3) When your OL is your strength, play to it. He didn't that season, and put games on our weak spot:QB.
4) His QB management cost us both UF games.
That's a lot of major goofs in two years. I'll argue Dooley and Kiffin had better first years.
That having been said, Jones could win like Jim Donnan, which is an improvement. I'm pulling for the guy. With good assistants, he could do well. Those guys make or break things.
