He wasn't going to crack the two deep at CB this year and could possibly start at WR. That's why he was moved.

I understand that.

I like the guys we have, but I'd bet Wingo is the better DB than the guys taking up the 2 deep, yes, I realize they're really good.

I think he can excel at either spot so I'm fine with it.

I'd bet that he can excel at the WR spot.

I just don't think it's in his best interest, but who knows. But I'm sure he'd rather play than not play.

This all falls into the same ball of wax -- I wish Mizzou wasn't quite so stuck in their ways of not playing younger, more talented players, in place of adequate upper classman.

I'm a big fan of Dennis and Penton. The argument might be able to be made that Wingo is as good as the other guys behind those 2 but I think it's tough to say he's better than those 2.

Penton played as a true freshman and was a full time starter by his 2nd year. I also think that it's hard to use the past history to predict what GP might do in the future when it comes to this. Mizzou simply hasn't always gotten guys who were physically ready to play their first year. Now, they are getting more and more of those level of athletes, so it will be interesting.

Stuck in their ways? What are you talking about? The best players play for Pinkel's teams.

DGB did as a true freshman, Penton did, Hansbrough did, Ish Witter did. There have been plenty of others. I'd bet Beckner will see the field this year and possibly a wide receiver or two. It's simply that our development and strength programs are so good that not a lot of freshman can crack the two-deep based on their performance.

Well, the coaches seemed to disagree. He's obviously not playing before Dennis or Penton. Gibson is an experienced player with starts under his belt, and one of our better athletes. Cheadle played above Wingo when both were freshman, and then you have the senior Johnson who has experience.

I agree that he could have been a good corner, and that's probably his best spot in the NFL (should he get close to that discussion) but I think he can be a standout at WR and his path to playing time is sooner there.
